Setup Guide
Whenever handling an Expedition Raft, ensure the handling area surrounding the pack raft is free from sharp objects, or equipment that could puncture the pack raft. Proper care and use of the pack raft will ensure longevity
Remove the deflated raft from the carry bag and layout the tough black bottom facing the ground, and the tie down shackles facing up.
Screw on the inflation valve tight on to the pack rafts dump valve.
Push the bellow outlet pipe into the valve opening.
Open the bellow up then close the top, capturing the air, then either roll the bellow up from the top, or fold over itself with your body pressed against the bellow as you bend at the hip
Once all creases are filling out, remove the bellow, and top up the last space with your mouth directly on to the inflation valve, forcing as much air in as you can, when you can no longer force any more air in to the raft, screw on the top cap tight.
Partially unscrew inflation valve cap on the backrest and inflate with mouth, then tighten valve cap.
Partially unscrew inflation valve cap on the floor cushion and inflate with mouth, then tighten valve cap
Note:
Inspect all seams before departing by running your hand along seam lines
If no deflation or cool pressure against your inside wrist can be felt,
If any detection of inflation pressure changes during your journey, get out of the water and assess any puncture damage in case a repair is required.
Repairs
Clean the puncture with fresh water and dry the area. For fast repairs, you can opt to purchase a roll of Tyvek tape or Gorrilla tape from a local hardware store as a recommended emergency repair method.
For a proper puncture repair clean the puncture with fresh water and dry the area. cut the supplied repair material to size and apply with the supplied glue, cover all edges of the material with glue, and adhere it to the hole/tear, apply pressure for a few minutes before leaving to properly set.
Before departing on your next adventure, always ensure a repaired raft has been tested for any leaks (submerge in still water or spray soapy water onto area and observing any bubbling from an air leak.) Always top up your repair supplies before using your pack raft next time.
